Elkhorn Ribfest, July 15 to 19. The 10th annual Ribfest returns to the Walworth County Fairgrounds at 411 E. Court St. in Elkhorn, about 20 minutes northwest of the lake. Admission and parking at the fairgrounds are free — the barbecue anchor of the summer calendar, running five days.
Fontana Lobster Boil and Steak Fry, July 25. The Big Foot Lions Club hosts this at Reid Park in Fontana on the west end of Geneva Lake, 2 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. with live music. Lobster dinner tickets must be preordered; steak dinners can be preordered or bought on site.

Art in the Park, August 8 and 9. The Geneva Lake Arts Foundation puts on its 46th annual juried fine-art fair at Flat Iron Park — more than 80 exhibiting artists across pottery, glass, oil painting, photography, and sculpture, plus a Just for Kids activity area in the gazebo. Venetian Festival, August 19 to 23. The big one.
